You also can't play as an Anarch, though your every non-AI opponent is considered to be one. For the fans of the franchise's lore: there are no playable Tremere, Malkavians or Gangrel in the game (yet?), so if you're a fan of those you're gonna be disappointed. OR maybe add the ability to upgrade found weapons (via collecting certain bloodtypes, for example). So idk, I'd rather make some types of weapons just harder to obtain than have this typical color-graded system for everything. And given that veteran players know exactly where to find the former, it gets even easier for them to wipe out newbies and casuals that get non-rare weapons from vans and shops. A purple/gold weapon is just immensely more powerful than its green/blue equivalent. Not sure if the 4 colored levels of weapons (generally typical for BR games) were a good idea here. But then comes another thing: there's no way to get the in-game currency through gameplay, so the only way to get most cosmetics is via whaling (which I personally can't bring myself to do for a game in such an ambiguous state, with uncertain if not unpromising future). Gotta admit though: the current battle-pass is somewhat generous (you get more than its cost of premium currency back after completing it) and has some neat-looking things in it. Some outfits are nice, some ugly, most are just meh. It's in dire need of feature sliders and more presets. For each clan there is only 6 faces and 2 bodytypes. Character customization is extremely limited. Such a vast potential here, but so far feels just wasted, sadly. New gamemodes such as single-player versus bots, or free roam mode to learn the map, or something Tarkov-like with a focus on "extract and escape" kind of gameplay, or anything co-op-like (surviving an onslaught of entity soldiers, for example) would be very welcome. Ideally though rather than bots alone, I would like to see the PVE aspects of the game expanded as well. As I understand, said bots are currently in development, so let's hope for the best. Like many already seem to point out, this game absolutely needs bots if it is to survive. While there are some PVE-ish things to do in the game (namely, quests and certain challenges), it's still too little. Needless to say, the matchmaking is de facto non-existent due to the low player count - everyone gets queued with everyone. The queue wait is just shamefully long, and given the aforementioned skill level of many old players, chances are you will be spending more time in the hub than in the gamemodes - waiting for 10 minutes to get eliminated in 3. Every game of Solo or Duo you play is guaranteed to have at least a couple twitch streamers in it, usually dominating everyone else. In fact, I bet this game might just have the highest percentage of streamers in relation to the active playerbase count. Lots of active players seem to be overcompetitive veterans and hackers. Introducing a team deathmatch mode was a good idea, but it needs a lot of work still. Fluid freerunning-like experience that makes you feel in control. It could also use some ambient NPCs (there are a few interactable ones already, but the areas still feels somewhat empty). What it still lacks is maybe interactable furniture and minigames to kill time while waiting for a match. It even feels like it was designed with the intention for players to engage into roleplay there. It could be among the largest and most beautiful hub areas I've ever seen in a multiplayer game. There are even some PVE moments to do (such as quests and collectibles), though I definitely wish there were more. Everywhere on it just makes me want to pause and explore instead of doing the fighting/hiding/surviving. A majestic and fairly accurate (I assume) rendition of the city centre of Prague with a bit of noir pre-apocalyptic atmosphere to it. The map is an open world masterpiece, no joke. Overall, it's free, so try it out if you're a fan of the franchise, but definitely don't expect much. The devs are also allegedly working on introducing bots into the game, but the results remain to be seen. On the other hand, a TDM mode was introduced, which seems to be more alive and fun, but is still in beta and needs lots of improvement. The very small playerbase is completely dominated by sweaty streamers and hackers, making the chance of success for new players basically null. The game is beautiful and has some neat aspects to it, but is currently almost dead with 10-20 minute long queues into BR modes and only a couple of simultaneous matches going on in any given time.
